MSc in Health Research
Health Research is an area brimming with possibilities to advance the quality of healthcare systems and services.
The 2-year part-time postgraduate degree is aimed at medical, health and social science graduates with an interest in Health Research.
- Fully accredited by Malaysian Qualifying Agency (MQA) and Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE)
- Accredited as a level 9 award on the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland (NFQ) and is compliant with European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)
- Jointly registered with RCSI, this postgraduate degree is recognised and awarded by the National University of Ireland (NUI)
Entry Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum cGPA of 2.50
English Language Proficiency
Only for Malaysians and residents (permanent residents, expat, work visa)
Fees
RM 40,000 only (paid in instalments)
Class Size
10 students maximum to maintain quality and personal level of assistance for each student.

Programme Overview
The programme is tailored to the career development needs of medical doctors and allied health professionals, adopting a blended learning approach of weekend teaching and distance learning.
The programme consists of four key themes:
- Also suitable for those with no medical background but are looking to contribute to the industrial perspective of health research.
- 6 modules followed by research dissertation by academics from Malaysia and Ireland
- Designed to facilitate full-time working students with 6 compulsory weekend classes per semester
- Supervisors are chosen based on students’ research area of choice. Students may also choose their own research supervisor/s.
Part Time Duration
MSc in Health Research: 2 years (1 year, 9 months + viva)
Postgraduate Certificate in Health Research: First 2 semesters (6 months)
Postgraduate Diploma in Health Research: First 3 semesters (9 months)
